After the PVA and fabric sample I had some colour PVA left over. It seemed a shame to waste it so I used some of the scraps of hand-dyed yarn from the weavette pieces and pushed them into the beaker until the yarn was covered. I allowed the piece to dry completely in the beaker then popped it out to create a small bowl shape.
As the yarn wasn’t completely covered with the PVA it retained some of its fuzzy texture. It would be possible to further exploit this and create textured pieces. It could be stitched into or combined with other pieces. The PVA does, however, create a shiny finish which has to be factored into the end result.
